6 months!

Alice turned 6 months on March 22nd!  That's a half-year old, people!  I especially love her 6 month picture-- she looks so breezy and casual!

At her 6 month check-up, she weighed in at almost 18 lbs, which puts her in the 75th-90th percentile.  Her height is 25 1/2 inches, which puts her in the 50th percentile.  We're slimming down and getting taller-- woohoo!  Her head-- well, that's in the 97th percentile.  Yes, that's right-- 97th.  But as her doctor says-- it's full of brains.  So we're pretty certain she's headed to Harvard.

She still isn't into the whole rolling thing.  She did roll once from back to belly, but hasn't done it since.  She is, however, getting up on all fours and shaking her booty.  We think she's just going to forego rolling completely and just head straight to crawling.

We also decided to give her first taste of solid food.  Although I hesitate to call it "solid"-- it's more bland mush.  Anyhow, her reaction was less than thrilled (though I can't really blame her):

She got a little more into it, though, when we let her play with the spoon on her own:

There's no denying it... baby's got moves!

(FYI... it takes a few minutes for the video to load-- but the end result is sooo worth it!)

Happy Birthday, Meme!

Today Meme turns the big 6-5!  Hard to believe since she looks so fantastic!

Now that I am a mom, I want to do all the little things that made me love her so much growing up as a little girl.  Things like tucking me into the couch when I was sick and buying those little mini chocolate cupcakes (always made me feel 11o% better).  Or coming home from the store with little goodies for both me and my friends.  Even today, my friends tell me how much they loved to come over my house because of my mom.

You can't go anywhere in Salem without someone stopping my mom and saying hello.  She's like a celebrity there-- everyone knows and loves her.

My mom also has the BEST sayings.  Things like "Your breath smells powerful" or "Your room looks like a cyclone hit."  I can't wait to use those on Alice some day.

Speaking of Alice, my mom not only rocks as a mom, she's a fantastic grandmother.  Every Monday since we moved back to NH, she's come over and helped me out.  We've come to name them "Meme Mondays" and I look forward to them every week.  Alice has no idea how lucky she is to have such a great Meme-- or how spoiled rotten she's going to be!

Happy Birthday, Meme!!   We love you very much!!
